Our Story
On the path to success, distance is the easiest obstacle to overcome. People seek opportunity and success wherever it is most abundant, no matter how far they must travel. They depart their hometowns, leaving behind memories of childhood, beloved family members, and familiar cultures.
Seeking opportunity
Arriving in a new place, whether it's a new city, state, country, or continent we begin a new life. Learning the customs of a new place and pursuing every possibility until we find that first foothold and begin the ascent towards our dreams.
Our purpose is to find ways to share your success with your home community. We want to create opportunities within the community that will provide success for the people already living there.

It's important to us that you still have family living in the development area. These family members will be part of our project team and will eventually be take over and manage the development after it's complete.

Who we help
Individuals with a local family connection to the project development area. It's important to us that you still have family living in the development area. These family members will be part of our project team and will eventually be take over and manage the development after it's complete. While the youth are encouraged to go school, or learn a trade, most complete their programs with no outlet for gainful employment. What is missing is entrepreneurship based on the use of local materials to forge sustainable living conditions while providing services and training opportunities for young people. The Building Roots Project is designed as a model for youngsters around the world to create sustainable employment and decent lives for themselves in their towns, villages and communities.
How we help
We brainstorm with you to create business proposals and development plans. Working closely with your local family members, we implement those plans through site preparation and construction. Project costs are covered by fundraising efforts including public campaigns, individual donations, and any funds you may have allocated for remittances. All our projects employ local labor and utilize locally-produced materials as much as possible. We want each project to provide training and job opportunities to everyone in the village.
Why we help
We believe in our responsibility to our families and in finding ways to empower local communities. Development should be initiated by the community with community effort. We believe in the spirit of entrepreneurship and the opportunities it can provide. Finally, we believe in leaving a place better than we found it and in our responsibility to the places that have shaped us.
